Description:
Each hardware component needs to have software (driver) installed, otherwise it will not work. This development kit allows programmers to create drivers for a wide range of hardware. For example, if you connect your printer to your computer, you won't be able to print until you install the driver. This makes sense since you will only be installing software specific to your printer model. The WDK is an enhancement toolkit that can be used as part of a Windows driver request. It brings together libraries, compilers, code tests, and various code packages designed to help developers create practical drivers for Windows. Formerly known as Windows Driver Development Kit (or WDDK). The provided tests and extensive documentation are intended to make the upgrade process easier for all customers. The Windows Driver Kit is licensed as free software for a PC or laptop running a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows operating system. It is located in the SDK category and is available for free download to all software users.
