Description:
You will come across very many different file formats on the internet or websites. A file format or extension describes the type and structure of data saved in a particular file. Moreover, the format of a file can tell you if the data it contains is in binary or plain text format. Some common file types include audio, compressed, executable, and media files. This extremely lightweight program can identify an unknown file type based on the file’s binary signature.
The application is simple to use and does not include any complex configuration options, meaning that it can be used even by less experienced users. Installation is not necessary and this means that the application’s executable file can be stored anywhere including an external storage device where it can be accessed whenever it is needed. It is worth noting that, the Windows Registry never gets updated, which means that after the application is removed, files are also eliminated from the hard disk.
The application’s main window has a list where you can drag and drop a file with an unknown format. The application will assess the file and return information such as its name, extension, checksum, creation date, and last modification date, among others.
